What?

Executives often talk about “finding” balance, as if it’s hiding somewhere. But balance doesn’t appear by chance—it’s built with intention.

Elite athletes don’t stumble into recovery days; they’re scheduled as part of the programme. Leaders must treat balance the same way. Without planning, work will expand to consume every hour, every day.

How?

1) Block recovery time in your calendar and make it non‑negotiable.

2) Protect one evening for family or personal time.

3) Review weekly and adjust until balance feels designed, not accidental.

Why?

  • Protects health and wellbeing under pressure.

  • Strengthens family and team relationships.

  • Creates headspace for better decisions.
